2008 Playwriting Competition Guidelines
Entries must be postmarked by October 1, 2008 (firm deadline)
* It is open to writers 18 years or older.
* Plays should be one act and be crafted primarily for actors 50+.
* Subject matter must address the hopes, dreams or concerns of seniors.
* Play must be unpublished and never produced except for informal readings.
* Submit two(2) copies of the manuscript in standard theater script format.
* A cover page with title, playwright's name, address, telephone number and email, must be on the first page of entry. The author's name must not appear anywhere else on the manuscript.
* A one-page summary of the play, sans author's information, must accompany each entry.
Entry fee: $10 TWA members, $15 non-members
Awards: Entries will be judged by theatre professionals.
First place winner will receive a prize of $75, Second Place $35.
Selected winners will also be presented as a staged reading at a suitable venue in Tallahassee .
Winners will be announced by December 15, 2008.
