Tallahassee, FL – The Tallahassee Writers Association (TWA) is excited to host a Graphic Novel Workshop with renowned author and artist, Jake Deibler, on Saturday, August 18, from 1-4 p.m.at the Council on Culture & Arts (816 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Tallahassee).
The workshop is open to both adults and teens; rising 9th grade students and above are welcome to attend. No experience necessary. Cost is $10 for students, $15 for TWA members, $25 for non-members/general public. Paper and pencils will be provided, but participants may bring their own sketchbook and materials, if preferred.
During this interactive half-day workshop, Deibler will break down his procedure for creating a graphic novel, from conception to finish, as well as share his reasons for wanting to be a cartoonist. He will also conduct a group activity and writing prompt, as he stresses the importance writing has in his process. Additionally, participants will have the chance to work on an actual panel.

Growing up in Virginia, then moving to Orlando for work, Jake Deibler has drawn cartoons and written funny stories since he could hold a crayon. With a degree in commercial arts, he built his company, Rent-a-Hero Studios LLC, where he supplies designs for products to local vendors and illustrations for children's books.
